Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate general ledger accounts, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly and in a timely manner.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of bank accounts, intercompany accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts to assist management in decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, verifying accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and provide accounting support.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of progressive experience in an accounting role, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CPA candidate.
- Experience with SOX compliance.
- Previous experience working for a large financial institution or bank.
