Key Responsibilities
- Prepare complex federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
- Conduct tax research and stay current on changing tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify planning opportunities.
- Assist in tax planning and consulting for clients, including estimating tax liabilities and advising on tax-efficient strategies.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information, clarify tax-related issues, and explain tax concepts.
- Reconcile tax data to financial statements and work papers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with senior accountants and partners to develop and implement effective tax strategies.
- Utilize various tax software and technologies efficiently to optimize the tax preparation process.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax environment
- Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., GoSystem, CCH Axcess, or similar)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations (federal, state, and local)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA license or actively pursuing CPA licensure
- Master's degree in Taxation or Accountancy
- Experience with a variety of client industries
