Walmart is seeking a dedicated and thorough ‘Target Cleaner’ (Maintenance Associate) to join our team in Greater Sudbury, Ontario. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming floors in all areas of the store.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, offices, and other common areas.
- Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Clean spills and other hazards promptly to ensure a safe environment for customers and associates.
- Maintain cleanliness of shopping carts, baskets, and store entrance areas.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and vacuums safely and efficiently.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and communicate replenishment needs to management.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies regarding chemical handling and waste disposal.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks as needed, such as changing light bulbs or basic repairs.
- Perform periodic deep cleaning tasks as assigned.
- Report any damage, hazards, or equipment malfunctions to management immediately.
- Uphold Walmart's standards for cleanliness and store presentation at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures related to cleaning and chemical handling.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cleaning, janitorial, or maintenance role, preferably in a retail or commercial setting.
