Key Responsibilities
- Actively scout, discover, and identify emerging musical artists through extensive attendance at live shows, exploration of online platforms, engagement at industry showcases, and participation in grassroots events.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive, real-time understanding of local, regional, and national music scenes, identifying key trends, genre shifts, and talent landscapes.
- Cultivate strong, reciprocal relationships with artists, artist managers, booking agents, local promoters, venue owners, and other influential industry professionals.
- Regularly attend live performances, music festivals, and industry events to critically evaluate artist potential, stage presence, audience engagement, and overall market viability.
- Conduct thorough research and due diligence on prospective artists, meticulously analyzing their existing fanbase, streaming data, social media presence, touring history, and potential for growth.
- Prepare detailed, insightful scouting reports, comprehensive artist profiles, and compelling presentations for internal review by A&R, booking, and executive teams, advocating for promising talent.
- Collaborate strategically with internal departments (A&R, Marketing, Booking, Sponsorship) to align artist discovery efforts with overall company strategy and market needs.
- Assist in the negotiation of initial artist agreements, ensuring mutually beneficial terms, and facilitate their smooth integration into Live Nation's artist development pipeline.
- Represent Live Nation Entertainment with the utmost professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm at all external engagements and industry functions.
- Stay continuously abreast of technological advancements, emerging digital platforms, and innovative strategies relevant to artist discovery, promotion, and development.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in talent scouting, A&R, artist management, or a highly related role within the dynamic music or live entertainment industry.
- Profound and broad knowledge of various music genres, coupled with a proven, intuitive ability to identify both commercially viable and artistically compelling talent.
- Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills, demonstrated by a robust and active existing industry contact base.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately interpret complex data (e.g., streaming analytics, social media metrics, touring figures) to support and validate artist potential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft persuasive reports and deliver engaging presentations.
- Highly self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working effectively both independently and as a collaborative, supportive member of a diverse team.
- Proficiency in utilizing various digital scouting tools, music industry databases, and online platforms for talent discovery and research.
- Willingness and demonstrated ability to travel extensively, often on evenings and weekends, to attend live events, festivals, and industry gatherings as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Entertainment Management, Marketing, Communications, or a closely related field.
- Direct, hands-on experience in negotiating artist contracts, publishing deals, or booking agreements.
- Demonstrated success in discovering and championing artists who subsequently achieved significant industry recognition, critical acclaim, or commercial success.
- Experience with project management methodologies and pipeline tracking specifically applied to artist development initiatives.
