Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end music licensing process for all media productions, including video, digital content, and advertising campaigns.
- Research and identify appropriate music tracks from various libraries, publishers, labels, and independent artists to meet creative briefs and budgetary constraints.
- Negotiate licensing fees and terms with rights holders (publishers, record labels, composers) for sync, master use, and other necessary rights.
- Prepare, review, and execute licensing agreements and contracts, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and internal policies.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of licensed music, rights, and usage terms.
- Collaborate closely with internal production teams (producers, editors, creative directors) to understand project needs and provide music recommendations.
- Stay informed on current trends in music, licensing, copyright law, and industry best practices.
- Manage and track music budgets for individual projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
- Address and resolve any copyright or licensing issues that may arise during or after production.
- Develop and foster strong working relationships with music industry professionals, including music supervisors, labels, and publishers.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Business, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in music licensing, sync rights, or music supervision, preferably within a media production or advertising agency setting.
- Demonstrated understanding of music copyright, publishing, master rights, and intellectual property laws.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and database management.
- A deep passion for music across various genres and a keen ear for how music enhances visual content.
