Job Description
Are you an experienced and meticulous Surveyor with a passion for precision land measurement and mapping? The National Works Agency (NWA) invites dedicated professionals to join our dynamic team based in Manchester Park, Mandeville. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to critical national infrastructure development and maintenance projects across Jamaica. As a Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our project sites, from initial planning and design to construction and final implementation. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive land surveys, utilizing advanced surveying equipment and techniques to collect precise data for various civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, and drainage systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive land surveys using total stations, GPS/GNSS, and other surveying instruments.
- Perform topographic, cadastral, construction layout, and as-built surveys for various infrastructure projects.
- Collect, process, and analyze spatial data to generate accurate drawings, maps, and reports.
- Interpret engineering plans and specifications to establish control points and precise project layouts.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure survey data accuracy and project alignment.
- Prepare and maintain detailed field notes, survey records, and digital data files.
- Ensure all surveying activities comply with national standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Perform calculations related to surveying measurements, area determination, and volume computations.
- Troubleshoot and maintain surveying equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior surveying staff or field assistants.
- Participate in site visits and inspections to monitor progress and address survey-related issues.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in land surveying principles and practices
- Expertise with total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and digital levels
- Strong knowledge of surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, GIS applications)
- Data analysis and interpretation skills

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with remote sensing technologies (e.g., LiDAR, drone photogrammetry)
- Familiarity with Jamaican land laws and regulations
