Job Description

Guinness Nigeria Plc is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supervisor to oversee our site and field operations and ensure optimal team control within our bustling Ogba, Agege facilities and potentially extended field operations. This crucial role involves direct supervision of operational teams, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and efficient execution of daily tasks. The successful candidate will be instrumental in fostering a productive work environment, implementing best practices, and driving continuous improvement across our operational landscapes. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of field/site operatives, ensuring high performance, productivity, and adherence to company standards.
- Oversee daily operational activities, including task allocation, scheduling, and progress monitoring, to meet production/operational targets.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, conducting regular safety briefings and inspections.
- Monitor product quality and process efficiency, identifying and addressing deviations promptly to maintain high standards.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs for team members to foster continuous development.
- Manage inventory and resources effectively, ensuring availability of necessary materials and equipment for uninterrupted operations.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on operational performance, team activities, incidents, and resource utilization.
- Implement and enforce company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a primary point of contact for operational issues, escalating complex problems to management when necessary and proposing solutions.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, encouraging open communication and teamwork.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in supervisory or team lead roles within a manufacturing, logistics, or field operations environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse workforce.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
- Sound knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, PMP, Lean Six Sigma).
- Experience in the food and beverage industry or a similar FMCG environment.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
