Saline County Television (SCTV) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Studio Manager to oversee the operations of our state-of-the-art recording facility. Located in the vibrant community of Hurricane Lake Estates, Benton, this role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient production of high-quality audio and video content for our diverse programming. As Studio Manager, you will be the linchpin connecting technical operations with creative vision, managing everything from equipment maintenance and inventory to studio scheduling and staff coordination. Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the recording studio, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization for all audio and video projects.
- Oversee maintenance, calibration, and repair of all studio equipment, including audio consoles, microphones, cameras, lighting systems, and editing suites.
- Train and supervise studio personnel, freelancers, and volunteers on proper equipment usage, studio protocols, and safety procedures.
- Provide technical support during live broadcasts, recording sessions, and post-production, ensuring seamless execution.
- Develop and implement studio policies and procedures to ensure safety, efficiency, and adherence to professional quality standards.
- Manage studio inventory, including ordering supplies, tracking assets, and recommending upgrades for technology.
- Collaborate closely with producers, directors, and on-air talent to understand project requirements and provide innovative technical solutions.
- Ensure the studio environment remains clean, organized, and professionally maintained at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of studio usage, equipment logs, maintenance schedules, and project documentation.
- Research and recommend new equipment and software to enhance studio capabilities and keep SCTV at the forefront of media production technology.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (4+ years) in studio management or a senior audio/video technician role, preferably in a broadcast or production environment.
- Expertise with professional audio mixing consoles, microphones, signal processing, and sound design principles.
- Proficiency with video production equipment, including broadcast cameras, lighting systems, and live switchers.
- Strong understanding of digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Adobe Audition and video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro.
- In-depth knowledge of broadcast standards, video codecs, and best practices for high-quality audio and video production.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and project management abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, capable of motivating and guiding a diverse team.
- Exceptional problem-solving aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues quickly under pressure.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by production schedules and live events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Broadcast Media, Film Production, or a closely related technical field.
- Certification in specific studio hardware or software platforms (e.g., Avid Pro Tools, Blackmagic Design systems).
- Experience with live streaming technologies and content delivery networks (CDNs).
- Familiarity with public access television operations, government media, or community-based broadcasting models.
