Job Description
As a Structural Engineer – Project/Technical at Cappa and D’Alberto Plc in Maitama, Abuja, you will play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and execution of complex building and civil engineering projects. Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for various building and civil engineering projects using industry-standard software and methodologies.
- Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and reports in compliance with relevant codes (e.g., Eurocodes, BS standards) and client requirements.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, ensure adherence to design specifications, and address any structural issues.
- Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project integration and delivery.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submissions, and construction methods proposed by contractors.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources related to structural engineering aspects.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies related to structural integrity and project execution.
- Ensure all designs and construction activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in structural design and project execution.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., Orion, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, Revit Structure).
- Strong understanding of national and international building codes and structural engineering principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
- Registered Engineer with COREN (Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
