As our Storekeeper, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our supply chain, directly contributing to our ability to deliver quality products to our customers across Jamaica. You will work closely with our logistics, procurement, and sales teams, ensuring that stock levels are always optimal and discrepancies are minimized. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and products, ensuring accuracy against purchase orders and quality standards.
- Issue materials and products to various departments and external partners as per approved requisitions and ensure proper documentation.
- Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records using the company's inventory management system.
- Conduct regular stock counts and participate in periodic physical inventories to reconcile discrepancies.
- Organize and maintain the warehouse/storeroom in a clean, safe, and orderly manner, optimizing space utilization.
- Implement and adhere to proper stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and storage procedures to minimize waste and damage.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (if certified).
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate low stock levels or potential shortages to relevant departments.
- Prepare reports on inventory movement, stock status, and discrepancies as required.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including those related to hazardous materials.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks and other vehicles as needed.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a storekeeping, warehouse, or inventory control role.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic mathematical skills for inventory calculations and record-keeping.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A strong sense of responsibility and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Valid forklift operator license.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite).
- Knowledge of warehousing best practices and safety regulations.
- Experience in the food and beverage or consumer goods distribution industry.
