Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Storekeeper to join our dedicated team in Montego Bay. This pivotal role is responsible for the efficient and accurate management of our warehouse inventory, ensuring that all products are received, stored, and dispatched in an orderly and timely manner. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in maintaining optimal stock levels, preventing losses, and supporting the smooth operation of our retail and delivery processes. You will work closely with the sales, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure product availability and contribute to our overall commitment to customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and accurately record all incoming merchandise and supplies, comparing against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Efficiently store and organize inventory within the warehouse, ensuring proper placement, accessibility, and adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain precise inventory records using our inventory management system, conducting regular stock counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Prepare and issue goods for dispatch to customers or other departments, ensuring correct items and quantities are released.
- Monitor stock levels and report any shortages, excesses, or damaged goods to the management team promptly.
- Implement and maintain excellent housekeeping practices within the warehouse, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently, if certified and required.
- Assist in conducting periodic physical inventory audits and cycle counts.
- Collaborate with internal teams (sales, logistics, customer service) to facilitate smooth product flow and resolve inventory-related issues.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Storekeeper or in a similar warehouse/inventory role (minimum 2 years).
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and basic computer applications (MS Office Suite).
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic mathematical skills for counting and calculating inventory.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; a certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience with an ERP system for inventory management.
- Valid forklift operator's license (if applicable to the specific warehouse needs).
- Knowledge of retail inventory best practices.
- Resides in or near Montego Bay for easy commute.
