Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and meticulously check incoming goods against invoices and purchase orders for accuracy, quantity, and quality.
- Organize and efficiently store inventory in designated areas, ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) and easy accessibility.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through diligent data entry and regular physical stock counts, reconciling any discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare and dispatch goods to sales floors, other departments, or customer orders as required, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Safely operate basic material handling equipment such as manual pallet jacks, trolleys, and hand trucks.
- Maintain the cleanliness, tidiness, and orderliness of the storage area, including shelves, aisles, and all equipment, adhering to hygiene standards.
- Promptly report any damages, discrepancies, missing items, or safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Assist in maintaining a secure and safe working environment by adhering strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively and communicate clearly with colleagues from various departments to ensure seamless operational flow.
- Assist with customer inquiries regarding stock availability or location when needed, maintaining a helpful and courteous attitude.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Good organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills (ability to read labels, count stock, and understand basic instructions).
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy items (within health and safety guidelines, up to 25kg).
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong, consistent work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a valued member of a larger team.
- A proactive and positive attitude towards challenges and learning.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized working environment at all times.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (even informal or temporary roles) in a retail, warehouse, logistics, or similar environment.
- Familiarity with basic inventory management concepts and practices.
