Job Description
Rainoil Limited is seeking a dedicated and experienced Storekeeper to join our dynamic team in Rumuokwurusi, Port Harcourt. This pivotal role involves overseeing the daily operations of our inventory and warehouse, ensuring efficient storage, accurate record-keeping, and timely distribution of materials. As a Storekeeper, you will be instrumental in maintaining optimal stock levels, implementing best practices for inventory management, and contributing to the seamless flow of our supply chain. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all incoming and outgoing inventory, ensuring accurate documentation and proper storage in designated areas.
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical inventory with system records to maintain accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Implement and maintain an organized and efficient warehouse layout, ensuring easy access to materials and adherence to safety standards.
- Receive, inspect, and verify deliveries against purchase orders, identifying and reporting any discrepancies, damages, or quality issues.
- Prepare and issue materials and equipment as per requisitions, ensuring proper authorization and timely dispatch to relevant departments or sites.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate effectively with the procurement team to replenish items before they run out, preventing operational disruptions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using the company's designated inventory management system (IMS).
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures within the store and warehouse premises.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts (if certified) or pallet jacks safely and efficiently to move and store goods.
- Prepare regular inventory reports for management, highlighting stock status, movements, potential obsolete stock, and other relevant metrics.
- Participate actively in periodic inventory audits and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives within the storekeeping function.
Required Skills
- Minimum of an OND/HND/B.Sc. in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of proven experience as a Storekeeper, Inventory Clerk, or Warehouse Assistant, preferably in the oil & gas, retail, or logistics sector.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for data analysis and reporting).
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control principles, and robust safety procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required in a warehouse environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and also as an integral part of a larger team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics (e.g., CIPS, CSCP).
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for inventory modules.
- Knowledge of dangerous goods handling and storage regulations (for petroleum products).
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Residency in or around Rumuokwurusi, Port Harcourt, for ease of commute.
