Job Description
Canadian Tire is seeking a dedicated and thorough Store Cleaner & Maintenance Associate to join our vibrant team in North Park, Mountain Home. This is a crucial full-time role responsible for ensuring our store’s pristine appearance and maintaining a safe, inviting environment for our customers and employees. As a Store Cleaner & Maintenance Associate, you will be the backbone of our operational excellence, diligently performing a variety of cleaning and basic maintenance tasks throughout the store, including the sales floor, restrooms, staff areas, and exterior premises. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to cleanliness will directly contribute to our store’s reputation and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, and cleaning windows.
 - Sanitize and maintain cleanliness of restrooms, staff lounges, and other common areas.
 - Empty trash receptacles and manage waste disposal in accordance with store policies.
 - Replenish cleaning supplies and restroom amenities as needed.
 - Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as changing lightbulbs or fixing small fixtures.
 - Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
 - Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
 - Report any major maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.
 - Assist with seasonal tasks such as clearing snow/ice from entrances or maintaining outdoor areas as required.
 - Work efficiently and independently, managing time effectively to complete all assigned tasks.
 
Required Skills
- Proven experience in janitorial, cleaning, or maintenance services (minimum 6 months).
 - Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
 - Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
 - Excellent time management and organizational skills.
 - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
 - Good physical stamina and ability to lift up to 25 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
 - Basic understanding of health and safety regulations.
 - Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
 - Experience in a retail or commercial cleaning environment.
 - Knowledge of basic handyman skills for minor repairs.
 - Strong communication skills and a friendly, cooperative attitude.
