Job Description

Starbucks is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functionality and safety of our Starbucks retail locations across the region. You will be the frontline support, maintaining equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and responding to service calls to keep our stores running smoothly and efficiently. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on all store equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, blenders, ovens, refrigerators, and other kitchen apparatus.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC issues in Starbucks retail locations.
  • Execute repairs efficiently and effectively, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational continuity.
  • Complete routine inspections and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Respond to emergency service requests promptly, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or installations when necessary.
  • Manage parts inventory and order supplies as needed, ensuring cost-effectiveness and availability.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to store partners regarding basic equipment operation and care.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance or facilities management, preferably in a retail, restaurant, or commercial setting.
  • Strong technical aptitude in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general appliance repair.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Basic computer literacy for record keeping and communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in HVAC, electrical, or a related trade.
  • EPA certification (Type I and II or Universal).
  • Experience with commercial coffee equipment repair and maintenance.
  • OSHA safety training certification.
  • Previous experience working for a large multi-unit retail or food service organization.
