Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the loading, unloading, and safe transportation of production equipment, including lighting, audio, video, and set pieces.
- Execute the setup and tear-down of stages, sets, and technical equipment according to production designs and schedules.
- Operate various production equipment under supervision during live events, broadcasts, and recordings (e.g., follow spots, microphone placement, basic stagehand duties).
- Perform routine maintenance and inventory checks on equipment, reporting any malfunctions or damages promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures, maintaining a safe working environment for all crew members and talent.
- Provide general production support, including running errands, assisting talent, and maintaining cleanliness of work areas.
- Collaborate effectively with directors, producers, technical staff, and other crew members to achieve seamless production outcomes.
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues on-site and escalate complex problems to senior technical staff.
- Adapt quickly to last-minute changes and demonstrate flexibility in working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by production schedules.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) in a stage crew, event production, or technical support role.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 25 kg) and work for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of audio, lighting, and video equipment setup and operation.
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards challenges.
- Commitment to safety regulations and best practices in a production environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification or diploma in sound engineering, lighting design, stage management, or related fields.
- Experience with live broadcasting or studio production environments.
- Familiarity with various types of production equipment, including rigging, hoists, and power distribution.
- Valid driver's license for light vehicles.
- Proficiency in both French and Swahili (local languages) is a plus.
