Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, execution, and completion of financial statement audits for various clients across industries.
- Perform detailed testing of financial accounts, transactions, and internal controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Prepare working papers and documentation to support audit conclusions and findings.
- Collaborate effectively with engagement teams, clients, and senior staff to gather necessary information and address issues.
- Identify and communicate potential risks or control deficiencies to senior auditors and managers.
- Utilize KPMG's audit methodologies and technologies to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in client meetings and interviews, contributing to a professional and insightful client experience.
- Stay updated on accounting and auditing standards, as well as industry-specific regulations.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (e.g., Finance, Business Administration with an Accounting concentration).
- Strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and auditing standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pursuing or intending to pursue CPA licensure.
- Previous internship experience in public accounting or a related field.
