Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead audio engineers with the setup, operation, and breakdown of sound equipment for live broadcasts, recordings, and events.
  • Shadow and support engineers during soundchecks, monitoring audio levels, and making real-time adjustments as directed.
  • Learn to operate various audio consoles, microphones, signal processors, and digital audio workstations (DAWs) under supervision.
  • Contribute to the organization and maintenance of audio equipment and studio spaces, ensuring a clean and functional environment.
  • Participate in the archival and cataloging of audio assets, including voiceovers, music, and sound effects.
  • Provide technical support for basic audio troubleshooting during productions.
  • Assist in editing and mastering audio for various platforms, ensuring compliance with broadcast standards.
  • Attend and contribute to production meetings, offering fresh perspectives and ideas for sound design.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies related to audio equipment and studio operations.

Required Skills

  • Basic theoretical understanding of audio principles and acoustics.
  • Familiarity with at least one digital audio workstation (e.g., Audition, Pro Tools, Logic, GarageBand).
  • Strong desire to learn and develop a career in audio engineering or broadcast production.
  • Excellent listening skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively in a team.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a proactive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or certificate in Audio Engineering, Broadcast Media, Music Production, or a related field.

  • Understanding of basic signal flow and common audio processing tools.
  • Experience with microphone placement techniques and principles.
