Job Description
Hiltop Engineering Services Ltd. is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Welder & Fabricator to join our dynamic team in Kuje, Abuja. This pivotal role requires an individual with a proven track record in various welding techniques and metal fabrication, capable of executing complex projects with precision and efficiency. As a Skilled Welder & Fabricator, you will be instrumental in constructing, assembling, and repairing metal structures and products according to specifications and blueprints. You will work on a variety of materials, primarily steel and stainless steel, utilizing advanced welding equipment and processes such as MIG, TIG, and Arc welding. A strong understanding of structural integrity, material properties, and safety protocols is paramount.
Your daily tasks will involve interpreting technical drawings, cutting and shaping metal components, performing high-quality welds, and conducting thorough inspections to ensure all work meets stringent industry standards and client expectations. This position demands excellent attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and other tradespeople to ensure seamless project execution from conception to completion. Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine layout, sequence of operations, and required materials.
- Perform various welding processes including MIG, TIG, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) on diverse materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Cut, grind, bevel, and prepare metal surfaces and components for welding using appropriate tools and machinery.
- Fabricate and assemble structural components, frameworks, and specialized equipment according to design requirements and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain welding equipment, power tools, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Conduct visual inspections and quality checks on welded joints to ensure adherence to welding codes, specifications, and structural integrity.
- Identify and troubleshoot welding issues, performing repairs and reworks as necessary to meet project deadlines.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and relevant industry regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth project flow and successful completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Provide mentorship or guidance to junior welders or apprentices where applicable.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Arc welding techniques.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
- Demonstrated experience in metal fabrication, cutting, and grinding.
- Solid understanding of welding metallurgy and material properties.
