As a Skilled Mason, you will be a critical member of our on-site construction teams, responsible for executing a wide range of masonry tasks with exceptional craftsmanship. Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate materials required.
- Lay bricks, blocks, stone, and other masonry units to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, fireplaces, and other structures.
- Prepare and mix mortar, cement, and other binding agents according to project specifications.
- Cut and trim masonry materials to desired sizes using power and hand tools.
- Apply plaster, stucco, and other finishes to surfaces, ensuring smooth and uniform application.
- Repair and restore existing masonry work, addressing cracks, structural damage, and aesthetic wear.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to all construction safety regulations, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate effectively with other construction team members, including carpenters, plumbers, and electricians.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform quality checks on finished work to ensure it meets project standards and specifications.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in bricklaying, blocklaying, and stone masonry techniques.
- Strong understanding of mortar mixing ratios and material properties.
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and plans accurately.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Knowledge of construction safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE).
