The Site Supervisor will also be instrumental in preparing daily and weekly progress reports, managing material inventories, ensuring proper equipment maintenance, and verifying that all construction activities comply with local building codes and environmental regulations. Your ability to forecast resource needs, optimize workflows, and maintain a high level of organization will be key to your success in this dynamic role. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all daily construction site operations, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Direct and supervise on-site personnel, including contractors, subcontractors, and laborers, fostering a productive and safe working environment.
- Implement and enforce strict health and safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety briefings and inspections to prevent accidents.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or issues, and implement effective solutions to keep projects on track and within budget.
- Ensure quality control measures are consistently applied, inspecting work to guarantee compliance with construction standards and blueprints.
- Manage site logistics, including material delivery, storage, and equipment allocation, to optimize efficiency and minimize waste.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and comprehensive documentation of all on-site activities, incidents, and resource utilization.
- Coordinate effectively with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution and communication.
- Assist in budget management by monitoring expenditures, approving invoices, and ensuring cost-effective resource utilization.
- Conduct regular toolbox talks and site meetings to communicate objectives, address concerns, and ensure team alignment and morale.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (4+ years) as a Construction Site Supervisor or a similar leadership role in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and comprehensive safety regulations (OSHA or local equivalent standards).
- Ability to accurately read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and detailed construction drawings.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound decision-making skills, especially under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Valid Driver's License and access to reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong collaborative team player.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Relevant construction industry certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED AP, Construction Supervisor Certification).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Extensive experience with large-scale residential and commercial development projects.
- In-depth knowledge of Jamaican building codes, environmental regulations, and local construction practices.
