Job Description
Walmart is seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Shopify Business Analyst to join our dynamic e-commerce team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in optimizing and expanding our digital storefronts and integrations, particularly those utilizing the Shopify platform. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of e-commerce performance data, customer behavior, and sales trends, with a specific focus on Shopify-powered platforms.
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from various stakeholders, translating them into detailed functional specifications and user stories for technical teams.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, UX/UI designers, and marketing teams to ensure successful implementation of e-commerce features and optimizations.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for improving the Shopify platform's functionality, usability, and integration with other Walmart systems.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to e-commerce operations and project success.
- Perform competitive analysis and stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in the e-commerce and Shopify ecosystem.
- Facilitate testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and post-launch validation to ensure solutions meet business needs and quality standards.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Shopify, providing insights and recommendations to enhance our online retail strategies.
- Manage backlog prioritization and sprint planning in an Agile development environment.
Required Skills
- 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, specifically within an e-commerce environment.
- Demonstrated expertise with the Shopify platform, including its admin, API, and ecosystem of apps/integrations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable conclusions.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and advanced Excel.
- Experience with SQL for data querying and analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in a dynamic setting.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience with other e-commerce platforms or marketplaces.
- Knowledge of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
- Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA) or Project Management (PMP, CSM).
- Experience working for a large retail or consumer goods company.
