Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately pick, pack, and prepare parcels for shipment according to established company standards and customer requirements.
  • Verify order details and contents against shipping labels and all relevant documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Operate scanning equipment and other warehouse machinery (e.g., pallet trucks) safely and efficiently following training.
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage and maximise space utilisation.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment within the shipping area, adhering strictly to health and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow across the depot.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures without exception.
  • Report any discrepancies, damaged goods, or operational issues to supervisory staff promptly for immediate resolution.
  • Contribute to inventory counts, stock rotation, and general warehouse duties as required to support overall operations.

Required Skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic logistics environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry, scanning systems, and digital record-keeping.
  • Good verbal communication skills and a cooperative, team-player attitude.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move parcels up to 25kg (with assistance if needed) safely and repeatedly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or shipping role is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with parcel scanning and tracking systems or similar inventory management software.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and best practices within a warehouse setting.
