Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Petroleum Engineer to join our dynamic team in Ken Caryl, Littleton. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in optimizing hydrocarbon recovery, enhancing production efficiency, and contributing to the strategic development of our oil and gas assets. You will apply advanced engineering principles to analyze reservoir performance, design well completions, and implement innovative production enhancement strategies. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, a deep understanding of reservoir simulation, and a commitment to safety and environmental stewardship. You will collaborate closely with geoscientists, operations personnel, and other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated solutions that maximize value and adhere to Shell’s stringent technical and ethical standards. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive reservoir performance analysis, including decline curve analysis, material balance, and pressure transient analysis.
- Develop and maintain detailed reservoir models and simulations to predict future production and optimize recovery strategies.
- Design and optimize well completions, artificial lift systems, and stimulation programs to maximize production rates.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) projects and support their implementation.
- Monitor and troubleshoot well and field performance, recommending remedial actions to address production issues.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, presentations, and technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including geoscientists, drilling engineers, and operations staff to ensure integrated project execution.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with Shell's safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in peer reviews, technical workshops, and knowledge sharing initiatives to foster continuous improvement.
- Utilize data analytics and digital tools to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in petroleum engineering, with a focus on reservoir, production, or drilling engineering.
- Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Petrel, Eclipse, CMG) and production optimization tools (e.g., IPM, Prosper, GAP).
- Strong understanding of rock and fluid properties, reservoir drive mechanisms, and well performance analysis.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder engagement.

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering.
- Experience with unconventional resources and hydraulic fracturing.
