Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operational activities, ensuring strict adherence to all safety, health, environmental, and quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee resource allocation, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor operational budgets, striving for fiscal responsibility without compromising operational integrity or safety.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of operational staff, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting continuous professional development.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, technological advancements, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and improve service delivery.
  • Ensure comprehensive compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as Shell's rigorous internal policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with supply chain, sales, maintenance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operational synergy.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and establish clear performance goals for direct reports.
  • Manage operational risks proactively, developing robust contingency plans to mitigate potential disruptions and ensure business continuity.
  • Analyze operational data, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, pinpoint areas for improvement, and generate insightful reports for senior management.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in operations management within an industrial, logistics, or large-scale retail environment.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop diverse teams in a dynamic operational setting.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO standards).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Proficiency in operational planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management tools and techniques.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and multiple priorities simultaneously under pressure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a relevant technical discipline.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement frameworks and certifications.
  • Direct familiarity with the oil & gas, energy, or chemical sector operations and industry-specific challenges.
  • Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP).
