Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections, diagnostic testing, and performance evaluations of equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, implementing effective engineering solutions to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of various plant equipment, ensuring adherence to design specifications and operational standards.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to develop and execute preventative maintenance plans and reliability strategies.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, environmental policies, and quality control standards.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, and data analysis to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and support to field technicians and operational staff, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
- Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures and operational incidents, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements within field operations.
- Ensure all work is performed in strict accordance with Shell’s Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a field engineering or similar operational role, preferably in the energy, oil & gas, or heavy industrial sectors
- Strong technical understanding of industrial equipment, processes, and systems
- Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in a team environment
- Proficiency in using engineering software and diagnostic tools
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental stewardship
- Ability to work independently in challenging field conditions and adapt to changing priorities
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required within the region
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in an engineering discipline or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively working towards one
- Experience with process control systems (DCS, PLC) and instrumentation
- Certifications in specific industry equipment or safety protocols (e.g., OSHA 30)
- Project management experience, including planning, scheduling, and budget management
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
