Job Description
Seplat Energy is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Engineer Production Technician to join our dynamic and results-oriented team in Calabar, Cross River State. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and optimize production processes to ensure maximum efficiency and adherence to operational targets.
- Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and corrective actions on production equipment and systems (e.g., separators, pumps, compressors, valves, instrumentation).
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement timely solutions to minimize downtime and production losses.
- Assist engineers in the design, installation, and commissioning of new production facilities and equipment upgrades.
- Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
- Collect and analyze production data, preparing comprehensive reports for management review.
- Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and engineering, to achieve production goals.
- Provide technical support and training to junior technicians and operators as required.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, operational parameters, and production activities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Production Technician or similar role in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of oil and gas production processes, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to HSE standards and practices.
- Computer literacy, including experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- High level of mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Relevant certifications in oil and gas operations, safety, or maintenance.
- Experience with SCADA systems and process control.
- Knowledge of Nigerian oil and gas regulations.
- Previous experience working with Seplat Energy or similar international oil and gas companies.
