Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Security Supervisor specializing in Corporate and Safety protocols to join our dynamic team in Rumuigbo, Port Harcourt. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily security operations, ensuring the protection of company assets, personnel, and information, while also championing robust safety standards across all operations. As a Security Supervisor, you will be instrumental in maintaining a secure and safe environment, implementing comprehensive security policies, conducting regular inspections, and responding swiftly and effectively to security and safety incidents. You will lead a dedicated team of security officers, providing guidance, training, and performance management to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and effectiveness. Your responsibilities will extend to developing and implementing emergency response plans, conducting safety drills, and ensuring strict compliance with all relevant corporate security and occupational health and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of security personnel to ensure optimal coverage and adherence to protocols.
- Implement and enforce corporate security policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular patrols, inspections, and risk assessments of company premises to identify and mitigate potential security and safety threats.
- Manage access control systems, surveillance equipment, and other security technologies.
- Respond promptly and effectively to all security and safety incidents, including alarms, medical emergencies, and unauthorized access.
- Investigate security breaches, accidents, and suspicious activities, preparing detailed reports and recommendations.
- Develop, implement, and conduct training programs for security staff on security procedures, emergency response, and safety protocols.
- Liaise with local law enforcement, emergency services, and internal departments as required.
- Maintain accurate records of security incidents, patrols, and daily activities.
- Promote a strong safety culture through regular safety briefings, drills, and awareness campaigns.
- Ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety standards and regulations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Security Supervisor or similar role in a corporate or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of security operations, risk management, and incident response.
- Familiarity with security equipment, including CCTV, access control systems, and alarm systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to train, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
- Proficiency in report writing and documentation.
- Sound judgment and decision-making abilities under pressure.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office Suite).
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., PSP, CPP).
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards and practices.
- Experience working in the oil & gas, logistics, or large corporate environment.
- Tertiary education in Security Management, Criminology, or a related field.
