As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will be the first line of defence, responsible for deterring potential threats, responding to incidents, and ensuring a safe environment. Your role will involve a blend of regular patrols, monitoring CCTV systems, access control, and providing excellent customer service to staff and visitors. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular internal and external patrols of the premises to deter and detect unauthorised activity, ensuring all entry points are secure.
- Monitor and operate CCTV and alarm systems, responding promptly and effectively to any alerts or suspicious activity.
- Manage access control points, verifying credentials, and maintaining accurate logs of visitors and vehicles.
- Respond efficiently to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, including fire alarms and medical emergencies, following established protocols.
- Complete detailed and accurate incident reports, daily occurrence logs, and other administrative documentation.
- Provide a visible deterrent presence, maintaining a high level of vigilance and professionalism at all times.
- Offer excellent customer service, assisting staff and visitors with queries, directions, and general assistance.
- Enforce site rules and regulations, ensuring compliance and maintaining order.
- Liaise effectively with management, emergency services, and other stakeholders during incidents or critical situations.
- Undertake security checks, searches, and inspections as required, adhering to legal guidelines and company procedures.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence.
- Proven experience in a customer-facing role, preferably within a security context.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging or emergency situations.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for report writing and system monitoring.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
- Physically fit and capable of prolonged standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Unarmed Security Officer in a corporate, retail, or industrial environment.
- Valid First Aid at Work qualification.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to security operations.
- Full UK driving licence.
