Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly motivated, vigilant, and disciplined Security Officer to join our dedicated team in Abak Road Estate, Uyo. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of designated areas within Abak Road Estate, Uyo office premises to detect and deter unauthorized activities, breaches, or potential threats.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV, alarms, and access control systems, promptly reporting any irregularities or suspicious behavior.
  • Control access to NPA facilities, verifying credentials of personnel and visitors, and issuing appropriate passes.
  • Respond effectively and promptly to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fire alarms, security breaches, and other incidents, following established protocols.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate reports on security incidents, daily activities, and observations.
  • Enforce company security policies, rules, and regulations among employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as required during incidents.
  • Conduct routine checks of all security equipment to ensure proper functionality and report any malfunctions.
  • Participate in security drills and training sessions to maintain a high level of preparedness.
  • Provide excellent customer service and assistance to staff and visitors while maintaining a secure environment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Security Officer or in a similar role (minimum 2 years).
  • Excellent observational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to operate security equipment and systems (CCTV, access control).
  • Strong understanding of security protocols and procedures.
  • Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
  • Ability to remain calm and act decisively under pressure.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Valid identity documentation and clear criminal record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
  • Relevant security certifications or training (e.g., from a recognized security academy).
  • Previous experience in a government, corporate, or industrial security setting.
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of local security threats and environment.
