Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular internal and external patrols of designated mall and office areas, identifying and reporting any security risks, hazards, or suspicious activities.
- Monitor CCTV systems and alarms, responding promptly and effectively to any breaches or incidents.
- Act as a visible deterrent against theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access, maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor.
- Provide clear and concise verbal and written reports on all incidents, observations, and daily activities.
- Respond to emergency situations such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, and security threats, following established protocols and assisting emergency services.
- Implement and enforce access control procedures for visitors, contractors, and staff.
- Assist with conflict resolution and de-escalation of challenging situations, always prioritizing safety and professional conduct.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, providing assistance and information to visitors, tenants, and staff as required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, site-specific procedures, and all relevant security legislation.
- Undertake first aid duties if required and if qualified, responding to incidents as per training.
Required Skills
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Door Supervisor and/or Security Guarding license is essential.
- Proven experience in a security role, ideally within a retail or corporate environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate clearly and concisely.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, particularly during emergency situations.
- Proficiency in using CCTV systems and other security equipment.
- A professional, reliable, and trustworthy approach to work.
- Physical fitness to undertake regular patrols and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in mall security or multi-site security operations.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Full UK driving license.
- Experience with incident reporting software and basic IT literacy.
- Customer service training or experience.
