Job Description

Halogen Security Company Limited is seeking dedicated and proactive Security Officers to join our esteemed corporate security team in the vibrant Isaac Boro Park area of Port Harcourt. This is a critical full-time role where you will be the frontline protector of our clients’ valuable assets, employees, and visitors. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for upholding a high standard of safety, preventing unauthorized access, responding promptly and effectively to incidents, and ensuring strict compliance with all established security protocols and procedures. Your keen observation skills, unwavering integrity, and calm demeanor will be absolutely essential in managing a wide array of situations, ranging from routine patrols and access control to emergency responses and conflict resolution. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, both on foot and using company vehicles, to ensure a secure environment.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV, alarms, and access control systems, and promptly report any suspicious activity or breaches.
- Control access to premises, verifying identities, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining accurate logs.
- Respond effectively and promptly to emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, and security breaches, following established protocols.
- Enforce company policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of personnel, visitors, and property.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports on daily activities, incidents, and observations.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services when required.
- Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to employees and visitors while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Conduct baggage and personnel searches as per company policy, ensuring all procedures are followed with respect and integrity.
Required Skills
- Minimum of O’Level certificate (SSCE/GCE/NECO)
- Proven experience as a Security Officer or Guard, preferably in a corporate environment (at least 2 years)
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to operate security equipment and systems (CCTV, access control)
- Proficiency in basic first aid and emergency response procedures
- High level of integrity, discipline, and professionalism
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and perform duties for extended periods
- Clean criminal record and verifiable references
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional security certification (e.g., ASIS, CSO, or equivalent)
- Experience with advanced security technologies and software
- Former experience in the armed forces or law enforcement
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of local security regulations and compliance standards
