Job Description
MSC is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Guard to join our team, specifically assigned to a residential compound in Boma, Kongo-Central Province. This crucial role involves safeguarding the integrity and security of the compound, its residents, and assets. The successful candidate will be the first line of defense, responsible for maintaining a safe and orderly environment, controlling access, and responding effectively to any security incidents or emergencies. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring peace of mind for our residents, contributing to their comfort and safety within the community. Key Responsibilities
- Patrol residential compound regularly to ensure all areas are secure and free from unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems, responding promptly to any alerts or breaches.
- Control access points to the compound, verifying identities of all visitors, contractors, and vehicles, and maintaining accurate logs.
- Enforce compound rules and regulations to ensure a safe and harmonious living environment.
- Conduct thorough inspections of premises, equipment, and access points at designated intervals.
- Respond to emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, or security threats, coordinating with relevant authorities as needed.
- Provide assistance to residents and visitors when required, maintaining a professional and helpful attitude.
- Prepare and submit detailed daily reports, incident reports, and other documentation as required.
- Act as a deterrent to criminal activity through visible presence and proactive security measures.
- Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
- Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and ensure data protection.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance security skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a security guard role, preferably in a residential or corporate setting.
- Excellent observation and vigilance skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (French and/or Lingala proficiency is a plus).
- Ability to operate security equipment such as surveillance systems, access control systems, and communication devices.
- Good physical condition and stamina to perform duties including patrolling and standing for extended periods.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Basic first aid and emergency response knowledge.
- High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of local security protocols and laws in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in military, police, or private security firm.
- Security training certifications (e.g., in access control, conflict resolution, or physical security).
- Familiarity with residential compound security best practices.
- Proficiency in additional local languages.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; further education in security management is a plus.
