Job Description

We are seeking a highly professional, vigilant, and customer-focused Security Concierge to join our dedicated team, providing an essential presence within a prestigious office lobby located in Dennistoun, Glasgow. This isn’t just a security role; it’s a front-line ambassador position where you’ll serve as the initial point of contact for all employees, esteemed visitors, and valued contractors, ensuring a welcoming, secure, and impeccably managed environment. You will be instrumental in maintaining the safety and security of the premises, vital assets, and all personnel, while simultaneously delivering an exceptional standard of customer service that reflects our company’s values. Your daily duties will involve a sophisticated blend of traditional security functions, such as meticulous access control, vigilant surveillance, and proactive incident response, alongside essential concierge services including professional visitor management, efficient query handling, and general administrative assistance. Key Responsibilities

  • Expertly control and monitor all access points to the building, diligently tracking entries and exits of employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Efficiently manage the visitor registration process, including issuing temporary passes and accurately directing individuals to their correct destinations.
  • Conduct regular and thorough patrols of the lobby area and other designated zones to proactively identify and address potential security risks or breaches.
  • Monitor advanced CCTV systems and alarm panels, responding swiftly and appropriately to any suspicious activity, security alerts, or incidents.
  • Provide a consistently professional, welcoming, and hospitable reception for all visitors and staff, courteously answering queries and offering comprehensive assistance.
  • Maintain meticulous and accurate daily logs, detailed incident reports, and precise visitor records as per company policy.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, including but not limited to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and security breaches, strictly adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Administer basic first aid if required, acting as a primary point of contact for emergency services and providing essential support until their arrival.
  • Enforce all building regulations and company policies to ensure a safe, orderly, and compliant environment for everyone.
  • Assist with the seamless management of deliveries and contractor access, ensuring strict compliance with all security and health and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively and professionally with building management, wider facilities teams, and local authorities as and when necessary to ensure integrated security operations.

Required Skills

  • Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Door Supervisor license.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a professional, empathetic, and friendly demeanor.
  • Proven ability to remain calm, focused, and effective under pressure, particularly during high-stress incidents.
  • A high level of vigilance, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent observational skills.
  • Basic IT literacy, including proficiency with email, word processing, and essential security software.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a cohesive team.
  • A valid First Aid at Work certificate.
  • Proficiency in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a corporate security, concierge, or dedicated front-of-house role.
  • Valid CCTV Operator license.
  • Experience with integrated security systems, including access control and alarm monitoring platforms.
  • Further qualifications or certifications in customer service or hospitality.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to a commercial office environment.
