Key Responsibilities
- Assist UPS package delivery drivers with the delivery and pickup of packages.
- Learn and demonstrate proper package handling and delivery procedures.
- Scan and log package information using handheld devices.
- Navigate routes efficiently with the driver, ensuring timely completion of deliveries.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with customers and the public.
- Lift, lower, and carry packages that may weigh up to 70 pounds.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with the driver and dispatcher regarding delivery progress or issues.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds unaided and up to 150 pounds with assistance.
- Excellent physical stamina and the ability to work in varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as required by seasonal demands.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role or outdoor work.
- Familiarity with the Seattle, Washington geographical area.
- Prior customer service experience.
