As our Scriptwriter, you will delve deep into local issues, traditions, and human experiences to create content that resonates deeply with our audience. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop original and creative concepts for radio programs, segments, PSAs, and promotional materials.
  • Write compelling, clear, and concise scripts for various radio formats, including dramas, interviews, documentaries, news features, and educational content.
  • Conduct thorough research on assigned topics to ensure accuracy, authenticity, and relevance of content.
  • Collaborate with producers, presenters, and sound engineers to ensure scripts are effectively translated into broadcast-ready audio.
  • Adapt existing ideas and stories into engaging radio scripts, maintaining fidelity to the original concept while optimizing for audio medium.
  • Review and edit scripts for grammar, style, pacing, and adherence to broadcasting standards and community guidelines.
  • Incorporate feedback from internal teams and community stakeholders to refine and improve script quality.
  • Ensure all content is culturally sensitive, inclusive, and aligns with the mission and values of Radio Communautaire de Lubao.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced broadcast environment.
  • Stay informed about current events, local issues, and cultural trends relevant to the Lubao community.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional creative writing and storytelling abilities.
  • Strong understanding of narrative structure and character development.
  • Excellent command of French and Lingala (both written and spoken).
  • Proven ability to write for an auditory medium, with a strong sense of pacing and dialogue.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, Creative Writing, or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a scriptwriter, copywriter, or content creator, especially in radio or broadcast media.
  • Familiarity with the culture, history, and socio-economic context of Kasai Province and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
  • Knowledge of other local languages spoken in Lubao is a significant plus.
  • Experience with audio editing software is an advantage.
