As a Credit Analyst, you will delve deep into financial statements, market conditions, and industry trends to evaluate creditworthiness and identify potential risks. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough financial analysis of existing and prospective clients, including reviewing financial statements, cash flow projections, and business plans.
  • Prepare comprehensive credit proposals and recommendations, outlining risk assessments, mitigants, and appropriate credit structures.
  • Monitor credit portfolios for compliance with terms, conditions, and early warning signals of deteriorating credit quality.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers to understand client needs and structure appropriate credit solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to Scotiabank’s credit policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in client meetings and due diligence visits as required, particularly for larger or more complex transactions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes affecting credit risk management.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit analysis, risk management, or corporate banking.
  • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, accounting principles, and financial modeling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
