Key Responsibilities
- Execute laboratory experiments and tests following established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain sophisticated scientific instrumentation and equipment.
- Collect, record, and organize experimental data with precision and accuracy.
- Perform preliminary data analysis and report findings to senior scientists and engineers.
- Prepare samples, reagents, and solutions for various experimental procedures.
- Maintain detailed and organized laboratory notebooks and electronic records.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Assist in the development and optimization of new experimental procedures.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations, quality control standards, and environmental protocols.
- Order and manage laboratory supplies and inventory.
Required Skills
- Associate's degree or Technical Diploma in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in a laboratory or R&D setting.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining standard laboratory equipment (e.g., spectrometers, chromatographs, mechanical testers).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent data collection, organization, and documentation abilities.
- Solid understanding of laboratory safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Eligible for TN Visa status as a Scientific Technician (US Citizen).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
- Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., JMP, Minitab).
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Proficiency in French (written and spoken) is a significant asset for integration in Quebec.
