As a Retail Assistant, you will be the friendly face of Sainsbury’s, playing a crucial role in ensuring our customers have an outstanding shopping experience. You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, from greeting customers with a warm welcome to assisting them with their queries and helping them find the products they need. Your day will involve maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting store environment, ensuring shelves are well-stocked and visually appealing, and handling transactions accurately and efficiently at the checkout. Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers with a friendly and helpful attitude, providing excellent service at all times.
- Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately, including cash, card, and other payment methods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store, including sales floors, stockrooms, and checkout areas.
- Replenish shelves, ensure proper product rotation, and merchandise displays attractively.
- Process incoming deliveries, verifying contents against invoices and safely storing products.
- Assist with inventory counts and manage stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and company policies.
- Support promotional activities and ensure signage is accurate and up-to-date.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals and provide mutual support.
