Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented HR Assistant to join our small, dynamic team located in the historic Duckpond neighborhood of Gainesville, Florida. Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the HR team, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and preparing HR-related documents.
- Assist with the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing new hire paperwork, coordinating orientation, and ensuring a smooth transition.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HR information system (HRIS) and personnel files, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Respond to routine HR inquiries from employees regarding policies, benefits, and procedures, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Support HR projects and initiatives, such as performance management cycles, training programs, and employee engagement activities.
- Assist with time and attendance tracking, leave management, and payroll input support.
- Help ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and company policies.
- Process HR-related invoices and expense reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive workplace culture through active participation and support of team events.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an administrative or HR support role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with an HRIS (Human Resources Information System) platform.
