Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and debug embedded C/C++ code for various microcontrollers and processors under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of real-time software components and device drivers for embedded systems.
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up new boards and perform initial system validation.
  • Assist in the development and execution of unit, integration, and system-level tests for embedded firmware.
  • Document software designs, test plans, and procedures to maintain high-quality engineering standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during development and testing phases, employing debugging tools and techniques.
  • Actively engage in learning new technologies, tools, and methodologies relevant to embedded systems development.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Solid understanding of C/C++ programming language.
  • Basic knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) concepts.
  • Familiarity with microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM, PIC, AVR) and their peripherals.
  • Understanding of basic hardware concepts and ability to read schematics.
  • Problem-solving skills and a strong aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with debugging tools (e.g., JTAG, GDB).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Python.
  • Experience with embedded Linux or other embedded operating systems.
  • Prior hands-on experience with personal embedded projects or academic coursework involving embedded systems.
  • Understanding of communication protocols like I2C, SPI, UART, Ethernet.
