We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Fleet Mechanic to join our new Royal Mail team in Downtown Bloomington, IN. This critical role is integral to the smooth and efficient operation of our expanding logistics network. As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of our diverse fleet of delivery vehicles, ensuring they meet Royal Mail’s rigorous safety standards and operational readiness. You will work on a variety of vehicles, from smaller vans to larger trucks, utilizing your expertise in both routine preventative maintenance and complex fault-finding. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on a diverse fleet of light and heavy-duty vehicles, including inspections, oil changes, tire rotations, and brake servicing.
 - Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment.
 - Execute complex repairs, including engine overhauls, transmission replacements, and suspension repairs, ensuring vehicles are returned to service safely and efficiently.
 - Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, labor hours, and service history.
 - Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and industry regulations to ensure a safe working environment and reliable vehicle operation.
 - Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, identifying and resolving potential issues before vehicles are dispatched.
 - Collaborate with fleet management and operations teams to schedule maintenance, minimize downtime, and optimize fleet performance.
 - Order and manage parts inventory, ensuring necessary components are available for timely repairs.
 - Stay current with automotive technology and repair techniques through continuous learning and professional development.
 
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a fleet mechanic or heavy equipment technician.
 - Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
 - Proficiency with diagnostic software and tools.
 - Strong understanding of vehicle safety systems and protocols.
 - Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
 - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
 - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
 
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE certification (Automotive Service Excellence) in relevant areas (e.g., Diesel Engines, Brakes, Electrical/Electronic Systems).

 - Commercial Driver's License (CDL) class B or higher.
