Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Full-Time Delivery Driver to join our new West Side, Evansville team. As a Royal Mail Delivery Driver, you will be the face of our service, responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of mail and parcels to homes and businesses across designated routes. This vital role requires individuals who are not only skilled behind the wheel but also possess excellent customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety. You will manage your daily deliveries efficiently, ensuring packages arrive in perfect condition and on schedule, contributing directly to our reputation for reliability. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company delivery vehicle on assigned routes.
- Sort, load, and organize mail and parcels for efficient delivery.
- Deliver a wide range of mail and packages to residential and commercial addresses.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety procedures at all times.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering inquiries and resolving issues professionally.
- Handle cash and process payments for various services as required.
- Complete delivery logs and reports accurately.
- Perform routine vehicle checks and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain a high level of personal presentation and a positive attitude.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Valid Indiana Class D driver's license with a clean driving record (no major infractions in the last 3 years).
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic navigation skills and ability to use GPS devices.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be 21 years of age or older for insurance purposes.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a delivery role.
- Familiarity with West Side, Evansville and surrounding areas.
- Experience with handheld scanning devices and delivery software.
- Customer service experience in a face-to-face setting.
