Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and meticulously optimize daily and weekly delivery routes for our diverse fleet, leveraging specialized routing software and sophisticated geographical information systems (GIS).
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of logistics data, including but not limited to delivery times, fuel consumption, driver performance metrics, and prevailing traffic patterns, to proactively identify inefficiencies and pinpoint opportunities for strategic improvement.
  • Collaborate closely and effectively with our operations, dispatch, and customer service teams to thoroughly understand specific delivery requirements, operational constraints, and paramount client expectations.
  • Monitor route execution in real-time, making necessary and agile adjustments to accommodate unforeseen challenges such as road closures, vehicle breakdowns, or urgent, time-sensitive delivery requests.
  • Perform comprehensive post-route analysis to rigorously evaluate the effectiveness of planned routes and identify critical areas for future optimization, cost reduction, and enhanced service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all routes, deliveries, and associated performance metrics for robust reporting, strategic planning, and compliance purposes.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all local and international transportation regulations, industry safety standards, and established company policies.
  • Actively contribute to the selection, evaluation, and successful implementation of new routing technologies and industry best practices to consistently enhance overall operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on advanced route planning methodologies, software utilization, and best practices in logistics optimization.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in advanced route planning and optimization software (e.g., ORTEC, PTV Group, Paragon, Roadnet, or similar).
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with an exceptional eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent geographical knowledge of Lubumbashi city and the broader Haut-Katanga Province, including key routes and logistical challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret, analyze, and work effectively with large, complex datasets for informed decision-making.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for sophisticated data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills, capable of fostering collaborative relationships across various departments and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to perform under pressure, manage multiple competing priorities, and adapt quickly in a dynamic and fast-paced operational environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Professional certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CTL, SCPro).
  • Prior experience with telematics systems, GPS tracking, and real-time fleet management technologies.
  • Familiarity with local customs regulations, transportation laws, and import/export procedures in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
  • Fluency in both French and English (spoken and written) is highly advantageous.
