Job Description
Idlers Rest Beach Hotel is seeking a dedicated and energetic Room Attendant to join our dynamic team in Black River, Saint Elizabeth. This vital role encompasses both meticulous housekeeping and essential light maintenance duties, ensuring our guest rooms and public areas consistently meet our high standards of cleanliness, comfort, and functionality. You will be responsible for maintaining the impeccable presentation of all assigned guest rooms, common areas, and facilities, ensuring they are always welcoming, tidy, and fully operational. This includes thorough cleaning, sanitizing, and restocking supplies, as well as promptly identifying and addressing minor maintenance issues. Key Responsibilities
- Clean, dust, vacuum, mop, and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Change linen, make beds, and replace towels and amenities according to hotel procedures.
- Inspect rooms for any damages or maintenance needs (e.g., faulty lights, leaking faucets, minor wall damage) and report them promptly to the supervisor.
- Perform light maintenance tasks such as changing lightbulbs, tightening loose fixtures, or clearing minor clogs.
- Restock room supplies (toiletries, coffee, water, etc.) and ensure all items are in place and in good condition.
- Handle guest requests and inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety and security procedures and report any suspicious activities or safety hazards.
- Manage time effectively to complete assigned tasks within established deadlines.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor with guests and team members.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored after use.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in housekeeping or a similar role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Basic knowledge of general maintenance and repair tasks.
