Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Room Attendant to join our dynamic team at Presken Hotel & Resorts in Ipaja, Lagos. As a Room Attendant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our guests enjoy a pristine, comfortable, and welcoming environment throughout their stay. You will be responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned rooms according to established standards and procedures, managing inventory of supplies, and reporting any maintenance issues promptly. Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and service assigned guest rooms daily, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, and polishing furniture.
  • Replenish guest room supplies (e.g., toiletries, towels, linen) according to hotel standards.
  • Inspect rooms for any maintenance needs (e.g., faulty lights, leaking taps) and report issues promptly to the supervisor.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and procedures, including proper use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including linen closets and trolleys.
  • Handle guest requests and inquiries politely and efficiently, or direct them to appropriate departments.
  • Monitor and control supplies and amenities, ensuring efficient use and minimizing waste.
  • Report any lost and found items according to hotel policy.
  • Assist other team members as needed to ensure smooth operation of the housekeeping department.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in housekeeping or a similar role, preferably in a hotel environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Ability to work efficiently and complete tasks within designated timeframes.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe usage.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
  • Certification in hospitality or housekeeping management.
  • Familiarity with hotel operating procedures and safety standards.
  • Ability to speak basic English and local languages.
