Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, test, and troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical components and sub-assemblies according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Operate and maintain a variety of manufacturing equipment, machinery, and precision tools, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Perform in-process inspections and quality checks to identify and correct defects, ensuring all products meet Rolls-Royce’s stringent quality requirements.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies, promoting a safe working environment.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering, quality control, and other production teams to resolve technical issues and continuously improve manufacturing processes.
- Document production activities, including assembly steps, test results, and non-conformances, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing ideas to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall product quality.
- Conduct routine maintenance and calibration of equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance with industry standards.
- Train and mentor less experienced technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster team growth and development.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace in accordance with 5S principles and lean manufacturing practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a Production Technician, Manufacturing Technician, or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent manual dexterity.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematic diagrams.
- Proficiency with various hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control principles, and safety regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry, record-keeping, and system navigation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.
- Prior experience in aerospace, automotive, or a similar high-precision manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Experience with advanced assembly techniques and automated machinery.
- Ability to perform light to moderate lifting and stand for extended periods.
