Job Description

Coventry Building Society is seeking a talented and proactive Risk Management Analyst to join our dynamic Risk team. Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess, and monitor key risks across the Society’s operations, including credit, market, operational, and regulatory risks.
  • Develop and maintain risk registers, documenting identified risks, their potential impact, likelihood, and proposed mitigation strategies.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative risk analysis, including stress testing and scenario analysis, to inform decision-making.
  • Prepare comprehensive risk reports and presentations for senior management and relevant committees, highlighting key risk exposures and trends.
  • Collaborate with business units to embed risk management best practices and ensure effective implementation of risk policies.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure the Society's risk management framework remains compliant with current and evolving requirements.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of risk management processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Participate in ad-hoc risk-related projects and initiatives as required.

Required Skills

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or a related quantitative field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a risk management, audit, or analytical role within financial services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R) and risk modeling techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
  • Solid understanding of risk management principles, financial products, and regulatory requirements (e.g., PRA, FCA).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst).
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) software platforms.
  • Knowledge of the building society sector and its unique risk landscape.
