Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized analytical tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using various laboratory equipment (e.g., XRF, ICP-OES, particle size analyzers).
- Prepare samples for analysis, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and disposal in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines.
- Accurately record, interpret, and report test results, maintaining detailed documentation and laboratory notebooks.
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, quality management systems (e.g., ISO 17025), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Assist in the development and validation of new analytical methods and procedures.
- Participate in laboratory audits, inventory management, and general lab housekeeping.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, scientists, and production personnel.
Required Skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an industrial or research laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining standard laboratory equipment.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety practices and quality control principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform precise measurements and analyses.
- Proficient in data entry, analysis, and report generation using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) software.
- Knowledge of mineral processing, metallurgy, or materials characterization techniques.
- Familiarity with ISO 17025 accreditation standards.
