Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive HR Assistant to join our dynamic Human Resources team at Rio Tinto. This is an immediate-start, full-time opportunity based in Downtown, Smyrna, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our HR functions and contributing to a positive employee experience. As an HR Assistant, you will be instrumental in providing comprehensive administrative support, maintaining accurate HR records, and assisting with various HR processes from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations and performance management. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the HR department, including scheduling meetings, managing correspondence, and preparing presentations.
  • Maintain and update employee records and HR databases (HRIS) accurately and confidentially.
  • Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job advertisements, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and managing applicant communications.
  • Support the onboarding process for new hires, preparing new employee packets and facilitating initial HR paperwork.
  • Assist in the preparation of HR reports and data analysis as required.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of HR programs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant labor laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate HR-related events, training sessions, and employee engagement activities.
  • Assist with offboarding processes, including exit interviews and related documentation.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an administrative or HR support role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS), ideally Workday or similar platforms.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience in a global or large corporate environment.
  • Certification in Human Resources (e.g., SHRM-CP, HRCI-aPHR) is a plus.
